How we work? Our performance as a Facilitator follows a strict procedure of action that consists in: 1. Information compilation through our international network: multilateral organizations and the Spanish representative office. 2. Identification of the country and the sector to be explored taking into account the Spanish companies’ comparative advantages. 3. Field exploration: visit to the target country. Contact with the local governs public institution and private agency involved in investment promotion. Search suitable local business partner. 4. Information dissemination: transference of the business opportunity to the company previously selected. Dissemination through a Seminar or Round Table with experts in the field and selected audience. 5. Matching the investment project and the qualified company, engaged to make a long term and responsible investment. 6. Visit the country with a delegation composed by the potential investors. 7. Follow-up service. Multilateral entitiesFrom the beginning of the 2000’s the FBP maintained a collaborative relations with the principle multilateral finance organization. For example, the FBP played the role of the World Bank’s Private Sector Liaison Officer (PSLO) promoting the multilateral activities through the Spanish companies.
Today our aim is to serve as a bridge between the multilateral organizations and the potential investors, reducing the existing distance and familiarize the great opportunities that the Multilaterals offer to the Spanish companies in developing countries.
In collaboration with the International Department of the Chamber of Commerce of Barcelona, the FBP cooperate with the Multilaterals very closely ready to act to following the organizations strategy.
The FBP international activity will be intensified during the following years in order to create an international networking and strengthen our role of a Facilitator.
