April 2009: Seminary “Brazil, Opportunities of Investment. Sectors: Infrastructure and Environment”

The FBP organized the Seminary “Brazil, Opportunities of Investment. Sectors: Infrastructure and Environment” that took place on 27 and 28 of April in the Casa Llotja de Mar of Barcelona

During the two days of the seminary, companies from sectors infrastructures and environment had the occasion to receive all the necessary information for the opportunities of business in Brazil and the sharing of experiences between Catalan companies.

The participation of several Brazilian institutions such as the Brazilian Basic Infrastructure Association (ABDIB), Brazilian Agency of Exports and Investments (APEX), Regulatory Sanitation and Energy of State of Sao Paulo (ARSESP), and National Bank of Economic and Social Development (BNDES) who attended introduced the projects of the country at first hand to the representatives of the companies attended.

“IFC: Global Manufacturing and Services”

The FBP with the Chamber of Commerce of Barcelona organized on 29 th March 2007, a round table in Casa Llotja de Mar, lead by Mr. Dimitris Tsitsiragos, director of the ‘Global Manufacturing and Services’ division of the International Finance Corporation (IFC).

Most excellent Catalan companies attended the event looking for business opportunities in collaboration of finance and consultancy services of the IFC. Some of the interested companies were Fluidra, Ciments Molins, Soler&Palau, Simon, Torraspapel, El Corte Inglés, Hotels Catalonia, Neocium, La Seda, Furas, Cobega, Topox, Taurus, Irestal and Ficosa among others.

Three companies started new projects in developing countries with the support of the IFC by this round table.

‘International Projects of Infrastructure with the World Bank, BID and IFC. Peru: an opportunity’

The FBP with the Chamber of Commerce of Barcelona organized on 12th and 13th November 2007 a seminar in Casa Llotja de Mar with the participation of the representatives of the World Bank (WB), the Inter-American Development Bank (BID) and the International Finance Corporation (IFC), and the Proinversión, the Peruvian investment promotion agency.

In this event the Spanish top 20 infrastructure companies were presents searching for attracting projects in Latin America, especially in Peru. Some of them were Agbar, Abertis Infraestructures, Saba Aparcaments, Cedinsa, Sogesa, Europrincipia, Auding, ILI-Cilsa, Asinca, Copisa, Copcisa, Dragados, Aseme, Autoritat Portuària de Barcelona, TCB, Barcelona Tourism, Gómez Kempf & Asociados, and Casa Asia.

The participants held individual meeting with the representatives of the multilaterals in order to analysis the projects in depth.

January 2008: Peru - Business Opportunities meetings in Peru
‘Mission to Peru in collaboration with the World Bank’

As the result of the success achieved in the Seminar, the FBP organized a Mission to Peru composed by five Spanish companies specialized in infrastructure and tourism.

To be specified, the infrastructure companies focus on water treatment, desalinization, waste plant, road construction, civil construction, parking concession, pool installation and tourism collaboration including trading program and resort construction in the Peruvian undiscovered tourist region.

The FBP prepared an individual schedule to each investor companies with the Peruvian relevant authority in charge of the project such as the Ministry, institutions, business associations, and also private sector who can become the business partner in the future. This individualised work was possible thanks to the close relationship kept between the FBP and the multilaterals.

La FBP amb el Consulat General de Brasil a Barcelona ha organitzat el Seminari "Brasil, Oportunitats d´Inversió. Sectors: Infraestructura i Medi Ambient" que s´ha impartit els dies 27 i 28 d´abril en la Casa llotja de Mar de Barcelona.

Durant els dies del seminari, les empreses del sector de les infraestructures i medi ambient han tingut l´ ocasió de rebre tota la informació necessària sobre les oportunitats de negoci a Brasil, i alhora proporcionar experiències entre les empreses catalanes.

La participació de vàries institucions brasilenyes, com l´Associació Brasilenya d´Infraestructures de Base (ABDIB), l´Agència Brasilenya d´Exportacions i Inversions (APEX), l´Agència Reguladora de Sanejament i Energia de l´Estat de Sao Paulo (ARSESP) i en especial del Banc Nacional de Desenvolupament Econòmic i Social (BNDES) ha introduït els projectes d´aquest país.

La FBP junt amb la Cambra de Comerç, Indústria i Navegació de Barcelona va organitzar una Taula Rodona el 29 de març de 2007, a la Casa Llotja de Mar, dirigida pel de Sr. Dimitris Tsitsiragos, director de la divisió global de fabricació i de serveis de la corporació de finances internacionals (IFC).

Les millors empreses catalanes van participar buscant oportunitats de negoci en col•laboració amb el servei de consultes de finances de IFC. Algunes de les empreses interessades van ser, Fluidra, Ciments Molins, Soler&Palau, Simon, Torraspapel, El Corte Inglés, Hotels Catalonia, Neocium, La Seda, Furas, Cobega, Topox, Taurus, Irestal i Ficosa entre d’altres.

Tres empreses van començar nous projectes en països en vies de desenvolupament amb l’ajut de l’IFC en aquesta taula rodona.

‘Projectes internacionals de la infraestructura amb el Banc Mundial, el BID y el IFC. Perú: Una oportunitat’
El FBP amb la Cambra de Comerç de Barcelona va organitzar els dies 12 y 13 de novembre de 2007 un seminari en la
Casas Llotja de Mar con la participació dels representants del banc mundial (WB), de Banco Desenvolupament Inter-Americà (BID) y de la corporació de finances internacionals (IFC), y del Proinversión, l’agència peruana de la promoció d’inversió.

En aquest esdeveniment les 20 companyies espanyoles d’infraestructura més importants, van participar-hi, buscant projectes atractius a l’Amèrica Llatina, especialment en Perú. Alguna de elles eren Agbar, Abertis Infraestructures, Saba Aparcaments, Cedinsa, Sogesa, Europrincipia, Auding, ILI-Cilsa, Asinca, Copisa, Copcisa, Dragados, Aseme, Autoritat Portuària de Barcelona, TCB, turismo de Barcelona, & de Gómez Kempf; Asociados, y casas Asia.

Els participants van celebrar la reunió individual amb els representant de l’anàlisi amb els multilaterals per analitzar els projectes amb profunditat.

Gener de 2008: Perú - reunions de les oportunitats de negoci a Perú
‘Missió al Perú amb la col•laboració del Banc Mundial’

Com a resultat de l’èxit obtingut en el seminari, la FBP va organitzar una missió a Perú composta por cinc empreses espanyoles especialitzades en infraestructura i turisme. Les empreses d’infraestructura es van centrar específicament en el tractament d’aigua, dessalinització, plantes de deixalles, construcció de carreteres, construccions civils, concessions d’aparcaments, instal•lacions de piscines i la collaboració del turisme amb la construcció de centres turístics en llocs encara per descobrir al Perú.

La FBP va preparar un horari individual a les empreses de cada inversionista amb l’autoritat rellevant peruana a càrrec del projecte, així com, el Ministeri, les institucions, les associacions de negoci, i també el sector privat, tots com a futurs socis de negocis. Aquest treball individualitzat va ser possible gràcies a l’estreta relació entre la FBP i les multilaterals.
