ACTIONS
Barcelona Promotion Foundation is working on two fronts to promote the city. The first is the overall promotion of Barcelona, which is subdivided into three areas: Attracting headquarters and large events, putting together and disseminating information on the city and, lastly, gaining social recognition.

Ensuring that Barcelona is selected as a headquarters for organisations and as a venue of large events is a primary objective. To do so, opportunities are identified, information is disseminated and then the Foundation collaborates in the co-ordination of the candidature proceedings.

By continuously analysing different aspects of the city's activities, the Barcelona Observatory, initiative provides updated information on Barcelona's ranking compared to that of other large cities.

International Promoción of Barcelona Awards are given to recognise the best initiatives on the city's social promotion. They are awarded every two years. The architect Sir Norman Foster, the Gran Teatro del Liceo and numerous articles that appeared in internationally renowned publications like the Financial Times, Le Monde or the Reuters Agency can be highlighted among those awarded in its three categories (personality, institution and journalistic report).

The entrepreneurial promotion of Barcelona is also one of the foundation basic areas of activity. Relationships are established with international organisms and institutions like the European Commission, the World Bank and Euro Chambers.

International co-operation actions are also carried out in order to develop the private sector, and programs and projects which could be of interest to the city's economic and social agents are identified.
