| BARCELONA OBSERVATORY | ||
| The Barcelona Town Hall (through Barcelona
Activa), and the Barcelona Promotion
Foundation are jointly promoting the Barcelona
Observatory project. It is an instrument that enable updated information on the city's most relevant aspects to be disseminated from a comparative viewpoint. It can be used as a basis for decision making by economic agents who may be interested in doing business or setting up in Barcelona. The regular gathering of data by means of a series of indicators offers information whose aim is twofold. Firstly, the goal is to periodically compare Barcelona's ranking in relation to other cities in each of the aspects under consideration (economic activity, infrastructures and logistics, knowledge and information technologies, quality of life, etc.). Secondly, it is also meant to take the city's pulse by systematically monitoring the city's activity in a variety of sectors. The city's companies, institutions and inhabitants are both the source and destination of the Barcelona Observatory. On the one hand, they are the leading players in the city's development. On the other, they benefit from the updated information that is regularly posted and available for consultation on its own website. KPMG Consulting Spain is participating in the project as its technological partner. This project is also being sponsored by the Grupo Agrupació Mútua. |
